Freemasonry is the world’s oldest and largest fraternal organization. Templary is a set of chivalric orders for Master Masons who desire further knowledge and experience in the craft of Freemasonry. The Commandery creates deeper meanings and relationships while examining the fundamental lessons taught in Freemasonry. It provides additional tools to help answer the questions: What is my relationship with God? What is my relationship with other people? What is my purpose? We discover, preserve, and defend the truest principles of time.

What is York Rite Freemasonry?
The Chivalric Orders are a set of three Orders (Degrees) in this body; Order of Red Cross, Order of Malta and Order of the Temple. These orders are founded upon the traditions of the Chivalric Orders of Knighthood of the middle ages, and the Rite has therefore acquired the title of Chivalric Masonry.

We are a Masonic organization devoted to faith, fellowship, and service. The Grand Commandery of Florida preserves the Templar legacy by fostering spiritual growth, promoting charitable action, and upholding the ancient values of knighthood.
A Legacy of Chivalry & Faith
Rooted in centuries of tradition, the Grand Commandery of Florida carries forward the spirit of the medieval Knights Templar. As part of the York Rite of Freemasonry, we emphasize moral integrity, Christian values, and service to others. In one of the grandest and most impressive ceremonies in all of Masonry, the true capstone of the York Rite, the candidate represents a knight, who has made a vow to visit the Holy Sepulcher, and who seeks admission into the ranks of the Templars. Beautiful lessons of our Savior are inculcated, and the candidate is at last received into full fellowship in a most solemn manner.

To Improve Vision through Research, Education, and Supporting Access to Care.
Knight Templar Educational Foundation
The Knights Templar Educational Foundation, established in 1922 to help provide educational advantages to the youth of this country has been the source of low cost loans for students to complete their college education. Those individuals seeking information should contact the Recorder of the state where they live for application forms and information.
Holy Land Pilgrimage
Holy Land Pilgrimages provided by the respective Grand Commanderies and in conjunction with the Grand Encampment Committee on Holy Land Pilgrimages has sent over 1200 ministers to the Holy Land. The program sends ordained Christian Ministers, gratis, on Pilgrimages to the Holy Land, for their spiritual enrichment, enthusiasm, and refreshed dedication. Most ministers who have been chosen feel that this pilgrimage has enriched their ministry and their lives. The election of participation by various Grand Commanderies and Subordinate Commanderies is optional. Masonic membership is not required and the minister may be male or female.
Become A Part of The Legacy
Your pilgrimage to become a Knight Templar can start today. To petition a Commandery of Knights Templar for membership, you must first be a member of a Masonic Lodge and other pre-requisite bodies such as the Royal Arch Chapter and Council of Royal and Select Masters. One who does not know a Knight Templar can contact the Grand Secretary to be connected with the York Rite bodies in your District.
